Letter from Corporate Social Responsibility Committee

Publish Date: 11-Mar-2016

Dear AmCham members and friends,

In recent months AmCham Cambodia has reinvigorated its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee.

Carol Nowlin and I co-chair the committee and Matt Viner is vice-chairman, and we now have regular monthly meetings.  AmCham members are invited to attend these if they so desire.

One of the activities we initiated was the development of a survey of our members on their CSR activities.  Results from this will be extremely useful for us to gauge the current state of our members' CSR commitments and help us determine how best the CSR Committee can serve the needs of AmCham members and design activities and guest speaker events to meet these.

Please click here for the survey link.  It is easy to fill out and only takes about five minutes to complete.

Directly related to this is the upcoming Amcham Cambodia luncheon speech by Mr. Alex Mavro from AmCham Thailand on March 25 at the Sofitel Hotel who will talk about  his decades of experience in designing and promoting CSR activities for corporations in Thailand.  At the conclusion of Alex's speech we will hold a Lucky Draw and only those who have completed the CSR survey—either prior to the event by email or at the event itself by filling out a hard copy-- can participate.

We have received over ten fabulous prizes to support this endeavor, including brunch for two, hair care products, movie passes, traditional dance performance and many more.

I encourage all of you to take a few minutes to fill out this survey. CSR is an increasingly important component of all companies activities as a way to demonstrate their commitment to support the community in which they operate, and one which has been demonstrated to serve corporations' overall success.

As well, please join us for the luncheon on March 25 which promises to be an interesting and insightful overview by one of the well established CSR experts in the region.

Best wishes,

Michael Hayes,

Member, AmCham Board of Governors

Co-Chair, AmCham CSR Committee
