Beer, Wine, and Spirits Committee

ABOUT

Beer, Wine, and Spirits Committee

AmCham’s newest committee focuses on Beer, Wine and Spirits (BWS). This Committee serves as a united voice to drive mutually beneficial resolutions by strengthening ties between the Private and Public sectors. Members debate the most pressing issues from taxes, alcohol regulation, advertisement, and more. Collectively, the BWS Committee also serves as “One Source of Truth” for companies and individuals to be informed on the latest regulations and changes that are forming the future of the industry.

In 2022, AmCham hosted a dinner at Courtyard by Marriott Phnom Penh to talk about their respective businesses and what market issues they see at the moment. The dialogue was extraordinarily productive and the Advocacy Committee progressed well in identifying key industry issues.

We are excited for 2023 as we will work on establishing a minimum legal drinking age in Cambodia. We are working closely with local private and public representatives on creating a framework that can help us understand the implications, as well as the potential benefits, risks and challenges that could arise from the adoption of such a policy.
